*Learn God’s Word!
Junior Bible Quiz is all about memorizing questions and answers from God’s Word. Our team then competes against other churches in the Penn-Del district at competitions called meets. Active participants will commit the Word to their hearts not just for competition, but for a lifetime.
*Competitive Meets!
The JBQ season lasts from August to mid-February. During this time, participants will participate in three meets (Oct, Nov, and Jan). A meet is a fun, game-show-style competition against teams from other churches. Two three-player teams compete in a match, trying to beat each other to the buzzer and answer the question correctly! Questions are worth 10, 20, and 30 points based on difficulty. The team with the most points at the end of each match wins.
Teams with a winning record may qualify for semi-finals, and then district finals, held in January and February, respectively.
*Exciting Practices!
To prepare for upcoming meets, JBQers practice at 11 am on a Sunday morning after service and every other Friday eve. Having studied their assigned questions all week, the participants show off their knowledge during games and drills. Using real Quizbot quizzers, the kids race to see who can answer the questions the fastest--just like in a REAL meet!
*Delicious Fun: Study Parties!
Each meet is preceded by, on the prior Sunday, a fun make-your-own-snack and game night, where the teammates play fun games that help them practice their questions!!
*At-home study time and PRIZES!
JBQ couldn't be effictive without the help of a parent/responsible adult!! JBQers are expected to practice at home on their own time. Time spend studying means points earned toward incentives (PRIZES!). Throughout the season, quizzers are awarded for their personal studying and attendance with anything from a candy bar up to an i-pod shuffle or a large Lego set!!
